It’s no secret at Hawker’s Asian Street Food is my favorite restaurant in the Orlando area. If you didn’t know that, well, congrats! Now you do! 🎉 Hawker’s first opened their doors at 📍 1103 N Mills Ave on July 14, 2011. Here we are, ten years later, and that one store has grown into a franchise that has 11 locations (soon to be 13) across 5 states in the U.S.
To celebrate this “totally tubular” ten year birthday, Hawker’s is kicking it back with some nostalgic 90’s theming. For this event, they have launched a new cocktail menu that doubles as a fortune teller. Conflicted as to which cocktail to try next? Let the universe decide for you!

Tang-arita
This drink is superb, and one that I hope stays on the menu a long, long time after the birthday celebrations are over. This margarita is made with Tang, giving it that extra kick and flavor that I never new it needed! This is now my go-to drink at Hawker’s! Featured in this drink is Milagro tequila, orange liqueur, agave, lime, and of course the sugar Tang rim.
The general manager of the Windermere, FL location told us the story of how he used to sneak downstairs in the middle of the night to sneak a spoonful of Tang. When confronted by his mother in the mother, he would just act like he had no idea what she was talking about, despite being the culprit. The Tang-arita he said, brought back all the nostalgia of his childhood, taking him right back to the days where he would sneak down the stairs.

MMMPop
Pop Rocks in a cosmo? Say LESS. This fizzy drink has out-of-this-world flavor, combining Tito’s Vodka with orange liquor, cranberry, lime and the piece de resistance: tropical punch Pop Rocks candy rim. If you enjoy sweet drinks and childhood nostalgia, then this drink is for YOU.

Long Island Ice-T
Inspired by the rapper-turned-Law & Order: SVU star, the Long Island Ice-T is a refreshing, fruity mix that makes you feel like you’re on the beach! This drink features Sailor Jerry rum with hibiscus-infused Hendrick’s gin, RumHaven, lemon, lime, and Coco-Cola. You can barely taste the alcohol in this drink, which is both amazing and dangerous (depending on how you look at it).

Bone Hugs-n-Harmony
This drink takes me back to my play-ground days, playing in the summer heat before retreating to the AC after a (quite successful) game of tag with the neighborhood kids. Obviously, the difference now being I’m 24 and of legal drinking age, meaning I can indulge in this drink that has pineapple-infused Flor de Cana Rum, Tito’s Vodka, Blue Curacao, and lemon! This drink hits you faster than you realize, and the next thing you know you’re giggling like a school girl on a swing set once again.

Party Time, Excellent
This birthday cake shot is the icing on the cake of a perfect night! Made with cake mix, it takes just like a piece a cake, but it’s a shot! Cheers!
While these featured drinks are here for a limited amount of time, the FOOD is here to stay. And honestly, that is my favorite part about Hawkers. My Self-Care days features my to-go order of Roti and Pad Thai, cuddled up in front of the TV with a glass of wine watching one of my favorite movies. This routine is what got me through the pandemic, with Hawker’s playing a MAJOR role.
When I go to Hawkers, the Roti and Pad Thai are non-negotiables for me. I have to get them, even if to take two bites and save the rest for another day. Hawkers is a tapas, small plates restaurants and I continue to challenge myself to order at least one new thing on the menu each time that I go. The menu is expansive, full of creative and authentic Asian Street Fare dishes. There is something that everyone is bound to love!

Roti Canai & Pad Thai
My go-tos, so I had to include them together. Roti is a crispy, buttery flatbread. When paired with the sensational curry sauce, the match is unbeatable.

Pad Thai is one of Hawker’s signature and most-popular dishes, and for good reason! A popular street food from Thailand, this Pad Thai perfectly balances the flavors of chicken and shrimp, mixed with bean sprouts, scrambled egg, mixed in with rice noodles and topped with peanuts. There is a bit of a fire-y kick in this dish to keep your taste buds spinning. My pro-tip? Try adding some of the curry sauce that comes with the Roti.

Chow Faan
This rice dish is another fan-favorite. Packed with chicken, shrimp, char siu, eggs, onions, and soy sauce, there is a powerful punch of flavor in every bite! This is my friend’s favorite dish on the menu.

Steamed Baos
This sharable is perfect for two. We ordered the pork belly bao and the meat was cooked and marinated to PERFECTION. The buns are perfectly fluffy, which is my favorite part. If you are a fan of Bao buns, you must give these a try.

Twice Fried Wings
These wings are a staple. Another one of Hawker’s top-sellers, and for good reason. The chicken is sauced in garlic gochujang, topped with peanuts, sesame seeds, and cilantro. The dish has the perfect amount of kick in it as well. The only question you’ll be left wondering when these are brought to your table is “which one do I grab? The drum or the flat?”
Whether you’re planning a gals night out, date night, treating the parents, or treating yourself—Hawker’s Asian Street Food is the PERFECT spot to ensure good drinks, good food, and great vibes! 🎉
